Innovation is part of who we are, and the original ZX-1 was one of the first monocoque carbon fibre race bikes back when it launched in 1991. It took the scene by storm with advanced manufacturing methods that allowed designers to push the aerodynamic boundaries, creating a truly unique bike.

Today, the ZX-1 continues to be a performance race ready road bike. Utilising Kamm Tail tube profiles, and an integrated fork and seat post, the Vitus designers have enhanced aerodynamics without compromise. An asymmetric and oversized BB386EVO BB helps to maximise drive and overall lateral stiffness. With the use of multiple carbon fibre layups, Vitus have maintained a balanced power transfer on the drive and non-drive sides of the bike whilst under pedalling load.

The UCI approved frameset has been raced by UCI Continental Pro cycling team Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK, featuring heavily in breakaways at the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire, and stage wins in the UK’s Tour Series criterium series.

The ZX-1 CR Disc includes all the performance orientated components of the Ultegra models, and is fitted with the redesigned 2019 Shimano 105 R7000 11 speed groupset. This new development of 105 from Shimano adds some superb ‘trickle-down’ technology from the Dura Ace and Ultegra groupsets. One of the highlights being the new, smaller shape shifters powering the 105 R7020 hydraulic flat mount disc brakes. In the gloss black finish, this new groupset looks fantastic.

Fitted out with Prime’s all-new Prime Attaquer Disc Tubeless Ready clincher wheels as standard, featuring slick graphics, and a very competitive weight. They are paired with the fast and reliable Schwalbe Pro One Microskin Tubeless 25c tyres. 

The ZX-1 CR cockpit is built with Prime Doyene Aluminium bar and stem combo. Finished off with the award winning Prologo Dimension saddle combining comfort, performance and lightness. The combination of short nose and PAS system ensures comfort even in the aerodynamic position.
