As we fix our eyes firmly on bringing exciting things in 2022, we still have to reflect on what an epic year 2021 was for us!
Our goal has always been simple - to make extraordinary bikes for real riders, and in 2021 we brought some awesome bikes to the range, which truly embodied our ethos like never before. We revamped the Sommet and Escarpe range, brought the EVOlution treatment to the ZX-1, Vitesse and Energie, and also brought completely new platforms to the party in the Rapide FS.
Our in-house R&D team has been working with the latest technologies and materials to create bikes that are ready to perform out of the box. As a bunch of passionate riders, we were stoked to see our bikes receive such high praise from customers and media alike. So, here are just some of the awards and articles our bikes received in 2021. Now, let’s get ready to smash 2022!
Sommet and Escarpe
Taking an already award-winning and highly commended platform and making it better in every sense of the word. The Escarpe snapped up MBR's Trail Bike of the Year, while the Sommet secured an honorable mention in Bike Rumour's Editor's Choice Awards, and recieved 4.5/5 in Bike Radar.
ZX-1 EVO
For its 20th birthday, the ZX-1 was given the EVO treatment and redesigned with all-out speed and performance in mind. You can imagine how stoked the team was when Road.CC commented, "It's not just quick, this thing is superbike territory... it's an absolute rocket ship!" as it took an Editor's Choice Award and was placed into their recommends list and also recieved 4.5/5 in Cycling Weekly and Bike Radar.
Vitesse EVO
With a completely redesigned frameset for 2021, and a focus on pro-level performance, we'd be lying if we said we weren't sitting back waiting for the awards to come in for this bike. And we were not disappointed, as it quickly secured Editor's choice awards with both Cycling Weekly and Road.cc. With Cycling Weekly stating “It’s an absolute machine… that outclasses it’s competition” and Cyclist awarding it 4.5/5 in their review.
Energie EVO
9 races, 8 wins, and 15 podiums. The Energie EVO landed with a bang in 2021 and became the weapon of choice for Team Spectra Racing as they took on the Cyclocross World Cup in Belgium and the National Series. Designed, tested, and developed for real-world racing, this bike was hailed as "a World Cup level Cyclocross bike, and it's a belter" by Road.cc with a 4.5/5 review to go with it.
As we reflect on an epic year, we remember our amazing customers and community. You guys make this all worth it and seeing our bikes being loved all around the world is why we do this. A massive thank you!
