Double World Triathlon Champion and 3 x Olympian Helen Jenkins Partners With Vitus
Helen will be riding our Vitus Auro TEAM eTap TT Bike and Vitus Vitesse Evo CRX eTap AXS Road Bike in her quest to challenge for further World Championships success at the Ironman 70.3 distance.
GB triathlete and two-time ITU world champion, Helen Jenkins returned to racing this February at Ironman 70.3 Dubai to finish in the top 5 following a 4-year break that involved having two children and two spinal surgeries. In this race, Helen was in the top two out of the water and had one the best runs of the day but she felt there was a huge amount of room for improvement in the bike, in terms of equipment, fitness and position.
“We’re stoked to have Helen join the Vitus Family. After a 4-year break from Triathlon, having had two kids and two spinal surgeries, Helen’s comeback story is truly inspiring! Her 4th place at the Ironman 70.3 in Dubai back in February was just incredible. It demonstrates the dedication and love Helen has for the sport and the sheer motivation to be back at the top after an extremely eventful few years. Helen will be using our Vitesse Evo CRX eTap road bike and Auro Team eTap AXS TT bike. We are really proud to be supporting Helens come back and excited to see what the future holds for her.” Chris McGlinchey – Vitus Marketing Manager
As Helen trains through this difficult period, she has been getting to know and love her Vitus Auro TEAM eTap TT Bike and Vitus Vitesse Evo CRX eTap AXS Road Bike, as she Zwift’s away in preparation for the day the outdoor racing season returns.
“The transition to Ironman and non-drafting racing has been exciting. After my first race, I knew I needed to choose a bike partner I’d have confidence and trust to be able to deliver my best performances. I’d need a very aero bike but also something comfortable and adjustable to suit my position.”
“I didn’t rush into a relationship but waited to find the right paring, a partner who could provide not only the right equipment but also support to help me achieve success. And what I love, is that the team who support me, the mechanics who build the bikes and more, are the same who support every customer, which isn’t always the case.”
“Like many out there, I can’t wait for the season to come back when it is safe to do so, it will be great to get out and race my new bikes. In the meantime, I am enjoying getting dialed on the bike, riding long rides, some over 130km comfortably in the TT position, on my new bike on Zwift.” – Helen Jenkins
Vitus joins, Helen’s long-term principal partner HUUB, Clif Bar, On Running and supporters Enve and Stages Cycling in helping Helen to push forward.
You will be able to find Helen training and racing on Zwift until it’s safe to return to outdoor racing.
