VICTORY DOUBLE FOR VITUS IN SALISBURY OVO ENERGY TOUR SERIES

Freddie Scheske and Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK broke the stranglehold of Canyon dhb p/b Bloor Homes and Madison Genesis on the 2019 OVO Energy Tour Series during a memorable night of racing in Salisbury, once again run off in front of huge crowds in Wiltshire.

Scheske became the first German rider to win a round of the OVO Energy Tour Series, taking a solo victory by 23 seconds over teammate Ed Clancy, having broken away after 26 laps of racing around the Salisbury city centre circuit.

Clancy, the winner in Salisbury 12 months ago, lead in the bunch behind Scheske, heading home Jacob Hennessy (Canyon dhb p/b Bloor Homes) and Madison Genesis duo Jon Mould and Richard Handley. A day after the birthday of team manager Cherie Pridham, Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK claimed their first team victory in series history.

The result leaves Canyon dhb p/b Bloor Homes one point clear of Madison Genesis heading to the final round at Brooklands, with Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK sitting in third spot, which will score them vital Tour of Britain qualification points.
